About UKCCS

Description of the image

With the aim of investigating the causes of cancer diagnosed under 15 years of age, the United Kingdom Childhood Cancer Study (UKCCS) was set up in England, Scotland and Wales in the early 1990s.  This groundbreaking investigation, which included around 14,000 children, remains one of the largest and most comprehensive studies of its type ever undertaken.  UKCCS children are now aged between 25-45 years of age, and the study is examining the longer-term health and healthcare needs of childhood cancer survivors.
